What this app is

The 406: Montana is a photo-sharing app for photographers, built by one. Every post is a photograph — there is no text-only post, no video, and no plan for either. That is enforced in four places in the code rather than being a house style, which is the shortest honest way of saying it will not quietly change.

It is members-only. Photographs, profiles, comments and albums are visible to signed-in accounts and are not served to anybody without one. The single exception is a photograph somebody has deliberately shared: that link opens a preview page, showing one photograph and its credit, with no route to a second.

Why 406

406 is Montana's area code. The app is not restricted to Montana and never will be, but it was built here and it is meant to read as somewhere rather than nowhere.

Nothing here is legal advice, and these pages are not the contract. The terms and the privacy notice are the documents that govern your account. These pages explain them; where the two ever disagree, the terms win.
